Honda City eHEV Gets A Price Tag Of INR 19.50 Lakhs, Worth It Or Not?

Honda City eHEV Final

India as a growing automobile market has a lot of potential for unique products. Lately, we have witnessed the emergence of electric vehicles at a greater pace than expected and now, automakers have started playing around it to enjoy the first-mover advantage. We already got the news that Honda will be introducing a strong hybrid version of the City and finally, we have the finished product called Honda City eHEV that has been given a sticker price of Rs.19.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) to disrupt the sedan segment (at least that’s what the carmaker think!).

Want to try something that might save some fuel costs? Here’s take a look at the details related to the all-new Honda City eHEV down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Honda City eHEV has arrived with a tag of Rs.19.50 Lakhs.
  • It comes equipped with a strong hybrid setup as standard.
  • Also becomes the most affordable car with ADAS in India.

It was estimated that Honda will launch a single fully loaded variant of City eHEV and now, we have a ZX trim that confirms the same. Since this new sedan is based on the 5th gen City, it will be sold in five exterior shades. The connected car technology has also been updated with around 37 features including voice commands via Amazon Alexa and OK Google. Surprisingly, other features on the all-new City eHEV remain similar to what we find on the regular model.

City eHEV is also said to be the most affordable car in India with the Advanced Driver Assistance System onboard. Available with several safety features including 6 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist System, anti-collision braking, road departure warning and auto high beam, it is currently one of the safest products on the Indian roads.

The price tag still remains a matter of concern. However, if you can push the overall budget to this extent, City eHEV can be your companion anytime.

Still worried? You don’t have to as Honda has decided to offer three years unlimited kilometres warranty as standard. Thankfully, it can be further extended while the battery pack itself comes with an 8-year or 1,60,000 kilometre after it rolls out from the showroom.

At the time of launch, Mr Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO, Honda Cars India Ltd. added, “Today, we embark on our electrification journey in India with the launch of New City eHEV, reaffirming our commitment to bringing the best and most meaningful technologies to the country. The tremendous response received on the unveil of the model last month reflects the acceptance of the Strong Hybrid technology in the mainstream segment. The New City eHEV offers many firsts in the segment, in line with the legacy of Honda City – setting benchmarks for the industry with each introduction.”
