It’s been a long time that we have not seen a C segment sedan turning into a hot hatch. Well! Honda has done that for you. The Japanese carmaker has recently introduced the all-new Honda City Hatchback that is based upon the latest generation Honda City. The company has worked really hard while designing the all-new hatch. Do give a look at the upcoming hatchback.

Dimension-wise, Honda City Hatchback is 4,349mm long and 1748mm wide. Further, the wheelbase of the all-new hatchback stands at 2589mm. Coming to the design, it resembles the Honda City sedan until the C-Pillar. Meanwhile, at the rear, it looks even sportier with that sloping roofline, spoiler and new set of taillamps.

Inside the cabin, the all-new City Hatchback features seats finished in leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an eight-speaker surround sound system and paddle shifters among others. This was the cabin of the Honda City Hatchback feels premium. However, for enhanced safety, it comes equipped with six airbags.

Powering the upcoming Honda City Hatchback is a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 122BHP of power. Further, this same engine produces a massive 172Nm of torque and comes mated to a CVT gearbox. Honda might introduce some other powertrains as well but again that remains subjective as per the market. Apart from this, the Japanese carmaker is unlikely to reintroduce diesel engines on the hatchbacks.

When launched, Honda City Hatchback will go against the likes of Hyundai i20 Turbo. Right, now Honda has no plans to introduce the City based hatchback in India. However, in the overseas market, it is all set to replace the third-generation Honda Jazz.
