Honda has officially announced that the Japanese carmaker will launch a mild hybrid car in India. Meanwhile, we expect the fifth-generation Honda City to get this mild hybrid system. The details regarding this technology on the sedan will be available on the MID display. Further, the most positive impact of the hybrid powertrain on this segment will be better mileage.

Honda City Hybrid will be available with three drive modes on offer, precisely – Electric, Hybrid and Engine. The electric mode is expected to work while the car is at lower speeds. However, for that extra punch driver can shift to the hybrid mode. Further, the engine mode will switch off the electric motor. Honda is all set to offer a 1.5-litre petrol engine alongside an electric motor that draws power from an electric motor.

The most fuel-efficient Honda City at the global market is known as the City RS. Meanwhile, multiple features such as paddle shifters, a rear diffuser, 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch all-digital instrument cluster, automatic emergency braking, etc. come with City RS as standard. However, India bound might not get all these features as a result of cost-cutting.

Honda has officially announced this decision that Honda cars will now come with the hybrid powertrain soon. Meanwhile, the first car that will come with the hybrid technology will be the fifth generation Honda City. Further, the Japanese carmaker is expected to launch the Honda City Hybrid by the fourth quarter of 2021 and the City with this technology will deliver a mileage of somewhere around 26-27 kmpl.
