The pandemic has made everyone realise the importance of their family. Keeping that in mind, the R&D team of Hyundai India feels that the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar will be a better option for the entire family to travel together.

Being a 7-seater, it is even a spacious one. But to be precise, the ulterior motive of introducing it is of course to bridge the gap between the best selling Creta and the flagship Hyundai Tucson. Recently, the Korean brand has officially revealed the interior of the upcoming Alcazar and mind you, it is the best Hyundai ever made, at least till now.

The front end of the SUV does resemble Hyundai Creta but the side profile and tailgate is something extremely new for everyone. Of course, it is a derivative of the Creta but there are significant changes that can be witnessed including an extended wheelbase of 2760mm. Apart from the revised bumper, front grille and tailgate it will also feature a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels on the top-end variants.

Palette with several colour shades including Phantom Black, Starry Night, Polar White, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver and Taiga Brown will be there to open up options for the customers.

Interior

The carmaker has confirmed that the all-new Hyundai Alcazar will be available with either a 6-seater or a 7-seater layout. But interesting features that have been revealed recently will surely attract a lot of customers for the Korean brand.

To begin with, it will be available with a 12.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging pad, panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc among others. For your information, this infotainment system will also feature Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto as standard.

Engine and Transmission

Under the hood, a power 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine will be there to churn out a massive 159HP and 192Nm of peak torque. According to the carmaker, this motor allows the SUV to do a 0-100km sprint in 9.5 seconds. Also, there is a fuel efficient 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 115HP and 250Nm of torque.

Transmission duties for both engines are managed by either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter gearbox.

Alternatives

Hyundai India has confirmed the launch of the Alcazar on 18th June. Meanwhile, customers who wish to own it can book place the bookings against a token amount of Rs.25,000. With tons of similarities, Tata Safari is derived from the Tata Harrier. For now, it is available with a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine that churns out a massive 168HP and 350Nm of torque. Giving the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar a neck to neck competition, even Tata Safari comes equipped with features such as a large panoramic sunroof, floating touchscreen infotainment system, semi digital instrument cluster and a 9-speaker JBL surround sound system among others.
