Earlier, power and performance used to play a major role for any segment. But, in recent times, features and technology are leading from the front. For starters, some introduced wireless charging while others came with the idea of a panoramic sunroof. Nowadays, several carmakers are offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto just to make sure that smartphone connectivity for the user remains hassle-free.

Hyundai is very mindful regarding feature updates. For instance, we have already witnessed the top-end variants of Creta that are available with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, touchscreen infotainment system, fully digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable front seats and whatnot. Further, just to make sure that Verna remains up to date in terms of features, Hyundai has introduced wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the S+ and SX variants. Interestingly, it is the first-in-segment feature and therefore requires a special mention.

Want to know more about the updated sedan? We have covered the entire details.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Hyundai Verna is now available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a part of the recent updates.
  • It will continue to get three engines on offer including petrol, diesel and a turbo petrol unit.
  • The top-end SX(O) variant will be exempted from this updated feature.

Hyundai Verna At A Glance

To begin with, the all-new feature will only be available on the S+ and SX variants. Surprisingly, the top-end SX(O) and SX(O) turbo will miss out on wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. However, customers can still use the feature using the required cable if needed.

In terms of features, Hyundai Verna is already available with keyless entry, voice recognition, connected car tech, electric sunroof, front ventilated seats, wireless charging pad and touchscreen infotainment display among others. The Korean brand is also very particular about passenger’s safety. Therefore, the all-new sedan gets 6 airbags, ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system and ABS with EBD just to name a few.

Under the hood, customers will get the option to choose among three engines on offer. To be precise, the first one is a 115PS, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. Currently, it is available with either a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The next one is a 1.5-litre diesel engine that churns out a massive 115PS of power and 250Nm of peak torque. Similarly, there is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor that produces 120PS of power and 172Nm of torque while being mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox as standard.

Last month, the carmaker released a revised price list with a price hike of up to Rs.14,000. As per the updated price list, Hyundai Verna now starts at Rs.9.19 Lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs.15.25 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
