What to expect?
The carmaker has not revealed the exact details related to it yet. However, according to the sources, Jeep Meridian is expected to feature the brand’s capable 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine along with a 48V mild-hybrid system for the first time.
The reason behind introducing the mild-hybrid setup is to improve the overall power delivery while making it a fuel-efficient vehicle. Talking about the seating patterns, it will be getting two different layouts depending upon the variant.
Meridian? What’s the story behind this name?
Around 70 names were proposed for this new 7-seater SUV but the one that was most relevant to India has been finalised. Jeep has also confirmed that “Meridian 770” and all the states lying on it will help them display the diverse culture of India. Well, that’s how Meridian name has made its way on this all-new SUV.
While addressing the media Nipun J Mahajan, Brand Director, Stellantis India added that Meridian has been thoroughly tested on extreme terrains stretching from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.
