BMW desperately wanted to introduce a performance-oriented version of the iX SUV. The German brand, today finally got the chance to reveal the all-new BMW iX M60 which is powerful and big at the same time. For starters, it will be making its debut with twin electric motors that are known for producing a combined output of 619 horsepower. You heard that right! 619 horsepower.

We must tell you that this is still not a full-blown M-Performance model. This way, it will act as a top-end variant to the iX series globally.

BMW iX M60: What’s new?

The all-new BMW iX M60 remain more or less similar to the standard variant. However, just to differentiate, the carmaker has introduced a carbon-fibre roof and cage inspired by the M3 CSL that was launched back in 2003. The iX M60 also runs on a set of larger alloy wheels. Thankfully, these massive wheels allow you to peep inside where the blue coloured M-specific brake callipers sit.

Now coming directly inside the cabin, this new SUV will be featuring some model-specific changes on the centre console. Since it is the top-end variant, the carmaker has loaded it with a fully digital instrument cluster, Bowers and Wilkins Diamond music system, ventilated seats and lots of M badges as standard.

Performance-wise, one can definitely expect a lot from this new electric SUV. Powered by twin electric motors it generates a combined output of 540HP and 1015Nm while using the normal mode.

Just in case the driver inside you wants to go hooligan, the sport mode with launch control pushes the overall output to a massive 619HP and 1100Nm of peak torque.

BMW boasts that the new iX M60 is capable of clocking a triple-digit speed in just 3.8 seconds. As per the German marque, it can go up till 250kmph effortlessly. The range has been slightly affected by these massive power figures. The overall range of the iX M60 is rated at 575km on a full charge.

Alternatives

Other luxury carmakers are still working on their performance models. For now, we should wait for them to enter this rivalry and till then, allow the all-new iX M60 to enjoy this monopoly!
