From the day of its entry, Kia Sonet posted strong sales for the Korean brand. Interestingly, the carmaker is celebrating Sonet’s one year in India therefore, the all-new Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition which is based upon the HTX variant has finally arrived with a price tag of Rs.10.79 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). This new edition is indeed feature-loaded and comes with some minor cosmetic updates.

Exterior & Design

More than 1 Lakh units of this beauty have rolled out from the showrooms. At the front, it will remain similar to the other variants but just to make this ‘Anniversary Edition’ special, Kia has decided to introduce skid plates on all four ends. There’s even an edition specific badging to maintain its exclusivity.

For now, this version is only available in four colour shades including – Steel Silver, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Grey and Glacier White Pearl among others. The limited-run SUV will continue using a set of 16-inch alloy wheels similar to what we get on HTX trim.

Interior

Inside the cabin, the carmaker is offering a dual-tone dashboard and seats finished in both Beige and Black. There are even some panels that come finished in leather for a premium feel. Also, several features including automatic headlamps, DRLs, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an electric sunroof and a multi-information display.

For occupants safety, this variant is loaded with dual airbags, traction modes, ESC, ABS and brake assist to name a few.

Engine

Since HTX variants are only available with diesel or turbo petrol engines, therefore, the all-new Anniversary Edition with be featuring either a 1.5-litre diesel or a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The overall output from the first unit is rated at up to 115PS and 250Nm while the latter one is truly capable of churning out 120PS and 172Nm.

According to the carmaker, the 1.5-litre diesel unit gets either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox, Meanwhile, it is the 1.0-litre turbo unit that is available with 6-speed iMT or a 7-speed ECT gearbox.
