It’s just been 24 hours since Kia started accepting orders for the upcoming Carens and surprisingly, the Korean brand has already bagged around 7738 bookings on the first day. These numbers are expected to grow at a similar pace in the upcoming days and therefore, we are here with some crucial details related to the all-new Kia Carens just for you.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Kia India has received 7738 bookings for Carens on the first day.
- It will be available with multiple engine options just like Seltos.
- Carens will be competing with other 6/7-seater MPVs in India.
Kia Carens
Three engine options are one of the major reasons behind this massive demand. The brand has confirmed that Carens will be available with engines exactly similar to what we get on the Seltos.
To begin with, the entry-level variants are expected to get a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with overall output rated at 113BHP and 144Nm of peak torque. Also, a diesel engine with similar displacement is there to churn out a decent 113BHP and 250Nm. Kia has also decided to come up with their potent 138BHP, 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. With that said, the upcoming Carens will be one of the most practical MPV in its segment.
Design-wise, it does look like an MPV but just to give it a modern touch, Kia has offered several modern elements on the front and rear end. Talking about the front profile, it comes with aggressive-looking headlights, a sportier bumper and a plain bonnet hood. Thankfully, the body cladding and massive alloy wheels on either side also do their job really well.
Inside the cabin, Carens feel practical with a flat-bottom steering wheel, leather upholstery, digital instrument cluster, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control. Also, other features such as a massive panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting and air purifier are further there to improve the premium appeal.
For occupants safety, Kia has loaded it with 6 airbags, ABS and four discs.
Alternatives
When launched, Kia Carens is expected to compete against other 6/7-seater MPVs such as Maruti Suzuki XL6, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector Plus. Planning to enter this segment? Check more details related to Alcazar down below.
