The South Korean carmaker with the introduction of the compact SUV, Kia Seltos won the heart of almost every Indian. Kia entered the Indian market in the month of August last year and thus Kia India sales crossed the 1 lakh mark today.

Kia India becomes the most popular brand in the present scenario. While the Kia Seltos becomes the most popular car in India selling around 97,745 units in total. Credits for the huge success of Kia India go to the Kia Seltos. However, the Kia Carnival contributes to a small percentage of sales. Around 3,614 units of Kia Carnival have been traded so far.

The Kia Seltos is the introductory vehicle for the Kia Motors in India. The Compact SUV with the stunning looks offers value for money and appeased almost everyone. Fairly priced at ₹9,89,000 onwards the SUV offers the projector headlamps, driver and passenger airbags & ABS, air conditioner with rear AC vents, shark fin antenna, rear parking sensors and keyless entry as standard. However, the higher variants have a lot to offer.

Kia Seltos comes with around 16 variants and 3 engine options – 1.5L Diesel, 1.5L Petrol, and a 1.4 L Petrol Turbo.

Then arrived the Kia Carnival, the most luxurious MPV in India till date. Equipped with the luxurious captain seats which they call the VIP seats. Kia Carnival offered features that are beyond luxuries such as the VIP Seats with Rear Seat Entertainment, Dual Sunroof, Trizone auto climate control, power sliding doors, and a smart air purifier. The sales figure may not be satisfying but the MPV made a mark in the Indian market.

Three variants named as the Premium, Prestige and the Limousine with a 2.2L Diesel engine is offered with the Kia Carnival. The 2.2L CRDi engine produces around 200PS of power and 440Nm of torque.

Kia India now to launch the Kia Sonet. It will be 4-sub-meter SUV. Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and Honda WR-V to be some of its rivals.

Kia Motors’ future in India seems to be exceptional. Kia to be a tough competitor in the coming days.
