Call it unbelievable but Kia has emerged a lot in the past few years. As we have witnessed the company growing, nobody could have thought that the Korean carmaker will launch an EV that will be producing 576HP in its initial stage. Yes, here we are talking about the all-new Kia EV6 GT that is as fast as any car with an internal combustion engine as well.

With the introduction of the GT variant, EV6 is now available in three trims, precisely – Standard, GT-Line and GT.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Kia has finally introduced the performance oriented crossover known as the Kia EV6 GT.
  • It is based on the standard variant but with dual electric motors that produces a combined output of 585HP.
  • Multiple cosmetic updates including an aggressive front fasica and yellow brake calipers can be witnessed on the GT variant.

For starters, it is similar to the regular EV6. However, just to differentiate and tell the owners that this is something special, Kia has offered a more aggressive front fascia and larger alloy wheels. Also, there are the yellow brake calipers that complements the yellow finishing inside the cabin.

As we have already entered the cabin, it comes with two massive screens similar to what we have seen on Mercedes-Benz cars. To be precise, the first one in front of the driver’s seat is reserved for the instrument cluster. Meanwhile, the other one is a touchscreen infotainment system.

For now, the GT model is only available with two electric motors on either axle. Talking in numbers, the combined output from both of them stands at 585HP and 740Nm of torque. The Korean carmaker claims that the all-new Kia EV6 GT can go from standstill to 100kmph in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 260kmph. Also, there is a GT-Line variant that gets either a single motor on the rear axle to produce 165HP or an AWD powertrain that churns out a massive 228HP. Surprisingly, the non-performance variants gets a claimed range of upto 510kmph.

Keeping in mind the current charging infrastructure, Kia has introduced an 800V charging setup. For your information, it will allow users to charge their EV6 crossover from 10-80 percent in just 18 minutes. Interestingly, a 100kms range can be obtained using this charging setup in just 4.30 seconds.
