Just when someone says that this is the most powerful production car from Ferrari, the Italian carmaker bring a better one to prove themself. Well, for one more time let us introduce another supercar that everyone was waiting for desperately. These are none other than the all-new Ferrari 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A. Interestingly, the first one is based upon the 812 Superfast while the latter one takes inspiration from the 812 GTS. Interestingly, both of them will be available in limited numbers. But the carmaker claims that the entire lot has already been sold out.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Ferrari has revealed the all-new Ferrari 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A globally.
  • The all-new performance-oriented range is available with a 6.5-litre V12 engine that produces 830HP.
  • Multiple design and mechanical updates are expected on the 812 Competizione supercars.

To begin with, both the supercars continue to use the 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine. But, unlike the regular 812 Superfast and 812 GTS, this engine is tuned to produce a massive 830HP and 692Nm of peak torque. Surprisingly, these power figures are 30HP more and around 26Nm less when compared to the original ones. Meanwhile, multiple updates including redesigned pistons, connecting rods finished in titanium and DLC coating on piston pins have resulted in a higher rev range at 9,500RPM.

Ferrari has also used the same 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox that we have witnessed on the Superfast. However, this time, it allows 5 per cent faster shifts that make both the supercars go insane and do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 2.85 seconds. Not to forget, the 0-200kmph sprint is a cakewalk for the 812 Competizione range. Talking in numbers, it can do the same in just 7.5 seconds with a top speed of 340kmph.

To make them more aerodynamic, the Italian carmaker has used specific front bumpers, carbon fibre wheels and air vents to fulfil the purpose. The rear diffuser that we have seen on the 812 Superfast is now wise enough to enhance the downforce. Apart from this, both – the 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione A use an integrated spoiler that gives them a sharper rear end.

Alternatives

For now, there are no direct rivals to the all-new Ferrari 812 Competizione and 812 Competizione Aperta. But, the first one will still be competing against the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ just like the 812 Superfast does. Want to know more about the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ? We have covered the crucial details down below.

Talking in numbers, it is truly capable of producing a massive 770BHP @ 8500 RPM and 720Nm of peak torque @ 6750 RPM while being mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. Interestingly, just like the Ferrari 812 Competizione even the Aventador SVJ was available with 900 limited units.
