The farewell of Lamborghini Aventador took away all the limelight in a way that we forgot the launch of this all-new sports car by Lotus. Yes, it is the endgame for internal combustion engines (ICE) for almost all the carmakers and keeping that in mind, the British brand has finally revealed – the Lotus Emira.

Last ones are the special ones. Isn’t it? Well, that’s the primary reason Emira looks absolutely staggering with a powerful mid-mounted engine onboard.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Lotus has finally introduced the all-new Emira globally priced at $60,000.
  • To be the last sports car from Lotus to get an internal combustion engine.
  • It will feature two engines including a four-cylinder as well as a six-cylinder.

Engine & Performance

Such highly anticipated sports cars are all about performance. Lotus has announced that Emira will be available as the ‘First Edition’ with a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine by Toyota. What is going to surprise everyone more is the AMG sourced 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine on offer. The carmaker has officially confirmed its collaboration with AMG for the first time. Power outputs from both the engines are expected to range between 355HP and 395HP with a maximum torque of up to 430Nm.

Transmission duties for both these motors will be assisted by a 6-speed manual, automatic or DCT gearbox according to the variants. Coming to the performance, Lotus Emira can clock a triple-digit speed in 4.5 seconds with a top speed standing at 290kmph.

In the US, it is going to cost only $60,000. What do you feel about the all-new Emira? Should Lotus consider introducing it in India? Do let us know in the comment section below.
