Now that’s what we call a milestone but this achievement is not going to be a normal one for Mahindra. The Indian brand introduced the new generation Thar back a few years ago and now, the 1,00,000th model has rolled out from the facility, writing a success story for everyone who thought lifestyle SUVs can never make such an impact in the Indian market.

Want to learn more about this big feat that Mahindra recently posted? Here’s some more detail about it down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Mahindra has rolled out the 1,00,000th unit of Thar in India.
  • An Everest White coloured Thar was the 1,00,000th unit.
  • The SUV has received a massive price hike of Rs.1.05 Lakhs.

Mahindra Thar: A Success Story

It all started back in 2010 when Mahindra Legend was renamed Thar with a completely refreshed look. Just like the predecessor, the updated SUV was rugged and complimented the back-then-Indian infrastructure (obviously the roads). Over time, the infrastructure has improved but Thar made its way to the hearts of customers and therefore, paved a path to its success story.

Lately, Mahindra introduced the second generation Thar in 2020 and this time it was slightly bigger in size and was quite intimidating. It even reminded people of the Jeep Wrangler and that’s why, people couldn’t resist buying the already popular SUV. Initially, the Indian automaker introduced it with a 4×4 system as standard. However, to reach the masses, the R&D team of Mahindra decided that a rear-wheel drive Thar could also do similar wonders if launched. Soon, this idea was implemented and the sales figures of the Thar went off the roof.

Quick Glance

Recently, Mahindra has rolled out the 1,00,000th unit of Thar, that too in Everest White shade. The SUV is available with three engine options right now and can be had with multiple transmission options depending on the variant. The features available on the 2023 Mahindra Thar are quite useful and to name a few, it comes loaded with an air conditioner, multifunctional steering wheel, touchscreen infotainment system, three-point seat belts, etc to name a few.

What else?

Mahindra has announced another price hike for the new Thar and this increment will surely burn a big hole in the buyer’s pocket. A massive hike, ranging up to Rs.1.05 Lakhs depending upon the variant has been introduced one more time. Well, you might be wondering what could be the reason behind this price hike. From how much we know till now, experts suggest that it could be due to the introduction of the latest emission norms.
