Mahindra has recently launched the all-new base variant of the Scorpio at Rs.11.99 Lakh. Meanwhile, this all-new S3+ variant sits just below the S5 variant and is affordable by Rs.69,000.

So what all changes can we expect on the Mahindra Scorpio S3+? It will be similar to the S5 variant. However, no footsteps will be provided with this variant. Also, the wing mirrors, side cladding and door handles will be there without paint. Further, the base variant now runs on 17-inch rims with a 235-65 tyre profile.
The engine that powers the all-new entry-level variant is the same 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel unit. However, in this case, it produces 120BHP of power @ 4,000 RPM and a peak torque of 280Nm @ 1800-2800 RPM. Further, even the 6-speed manual gearbox in this variant is replaced by a 5-speed unit. When compared to the higher variants, this detuned engine produces 20HP and 39Nm of less power.
However, in terms of safety features, it is loaded upto the brim when compared to other variants. The list includes dual front airbags, seat belt reminders, ABS and speed alert notifications among others.
Expect this to be the last update on the first generation Scorpio. Further, the second generation Mahindra Scorpio was spied multiple times while testing and it is expected to come to India soon. Apart from this, even the next generation Mahindra XUV500 is expected to launch by mid-2021.
