Being an local manufacturer, Mahindra is doing quite well in India. Recently, the PR team of the brand has confirmed that the carmaker has already recieved over 1 lakh bookings for the XUV700 which is a good news from Mahindra’s point of view. However, if we talk about the customers then, they still need to wait for a few more weeks to get their favourite SUV delivered.

Mahindra XUV700

Available in two trims, namely MX and AX, it will be available in two different seating layouts. Talking about the AX trim, the AX3 model will be getting a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker surround sound system and virtual assistant.

Coming to the AX5, it comes loaded with a panoramic sunroof, 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights. The top-end AX7 variant is equipped with seven airbags, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, 18-inch alloy wheels and seven airbags as standard.

An additional package that includes wireless charger, 360-degree camera and Sony surround sound system is also available to enhance the overall practicality.

Engine & Powertrain

Mahindra has deployed a potent 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine on the all-new XUV700. The brand claims that this unit is capable of churning out a massive 200 horsepower and 380Nm of peak torque. There’s even a 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine onboard but sadly, in two different tunes.

On the MX trim, this power unit produces 155HP and a peak torque of 360Nm. Likewise, the top-end AX is tuned to churn out a decent 185HP and 450Nm of peak torque.

Still, want to alter the performance? XUV700 will be available with four drive modes, including Zip, Zap, Zoom and Custom to do that. For transmission duties, it will get a 6-speed manual and an automatic gearbox depending upon the variant.

Hector Plus is a great product when it comes to practicality. Just like the XUV700, it is available with turbocharged petrol and diesel engines. Feature-wise, it has been loaded with a large panoramic sunroof, smart swipe tailgate, Hinglish voice commands, 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and automatic climate control among others. Not to forget, the standard Hector is a five-seat version of the same.
