Mahindra recently unveiled the 2020 Mahindra Thar. The all-new Mahindra Thar will be the second generation model of the Mahindra Thar. Undoubtedly, the updates on the capable offroader are arriving after 10 years when it was first launched.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar was revealed via a live webcast on the official website and social media handles of Mahindra & Mahindra.
Engine Options
The new Mahindra Thar will be powered by 2.0-litre mStallion which is a turbocharged engine that produces 152BHP of power and 320Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine produces 132BHP of power and 300Nm of torque. Two transmission options are available – a 6-speed automatic and 6-speed manual.
Exterior
Retaining the old classic look, Mahindra Thar now comes with a similar round-shaped halogen unit headlights with the LED DRLs on the fender. The new Mahindra Thar is longer and wider in every aspect while comparing it to the older one.
Likewise, the 2020 Mahindra Thar will now feature with the 18-inch sinister silver alloy wheels, fog lamps for better visibility, rear LED stop lamps, hardtop roof as well as a manual convertible top.
Interior
The interior of the 2020 Mahindra Thar to be equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. The infotainment system comes with roof-mounted speakers. Meanwhile, the Mahindra Thar now offers sporty front seats, reclinable rear seats, a rearview camera, power-folding mirrors, and many more.
Variants
The all-new Mahindra Thar will arrive in the market with two different variants – the AX and LX. However, the AX variant will be a proper offroader, the LX variant will be a proper offroader along with luxury.
Safety Features
The safety features on offer with the 2020 Mahindra Thar are the dual airbags, hill hold, and tyre pressure monitoring. The ground clearance of the Mahindra Thar is 226mm. However, the water wading capacity is around massive 650mm.
Finally, the Mahindra Thar will hit the market on 2 October. However, Mahindra might put a price tag of 12-15 lakhs on the Mahindra Thar.
