Being the bestselling carmaker in India, Maruti Suzuki now has achieved a new benchmark. The auto giant has sold 40 lakh units of the Maruti Suzuki Alto.

Maruti Suzuki is always known for its affordable, after-sales service, parts availability, low maintenance vehicles, and good resale value. All these reasons together make Maruti Suzuki the most trusted company in India.

The company launched the Maruti Suzuki Alto in 2004. Since then the Maruti Suzuki Alto has been the entry-level car alongside the Maruti Suzuki 800. The sales of Alto to 10 lakh units increased gradually till 2008. Meanwhile, till 2012 the sales of the Maruti Suzuki Alto reached 20 lakh units. The sales in 2020 now have reached a 40 lakh unit mark.

Many first-time car buyers also prefer Renault Kwid in India. However, even the Renault Kwid failed to reach close to the sales figure of the Maruti Suzuki Alto.

Shashank Shrivastava, Executive Director – Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki on reaching this milestone said, “Alto has been ranked as the No. 1 selling vehicle in India for 16th year in a row and we are immensely proud to announce another remarkable milestone of 40 lakh cumulative sale.”

The all-new BS6 compliant of Maruti Suzuki comes with fuel options – Petrol and CNG. Powered by a 796cc engine the car returns a mileage of around 22-31.59 kmpl. Maruti Suzuki Alto now becomes the most selling vehicle in India.
