If electric cars are the future. Then, Maserati is going straight on the right path. Earlier, it was the Ghibli that was introduced with mild-hybrid technology. And now, it is the Maserati Levante that has received a similar treatment.

According to the Italian carmaker, this mild-hybrid variant of Levante is powerful and will be offering a torque range at low revs that is very much identical to the outgoing diesel counterpart. Wondering what’s new? Here are the details down below.

First thing first, it is now available with a metallic blue colour scheme named Azzurro Astro. For an enhanced look, it comes with multiple blue elements all across telling that SUV is environment friendly. To be precise, there are three side air intakes and brake calipers that receives this kind of treatment. Apart from this, the all-new Levante Hybrid will now run on a set of 21-inch alloy wheels along with a slimmer pair of LED headlamps.

Under the hood, the updated SUV will now get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine. But, it is not alone. Instead, this engine now comes paired with a mild-hybrid setup. Talking in number, the combined output from this entire setup stands at 325BHP @ 5,750 RPM and 450Nm of peak torque @ 2,250 RPM. Performance-wise, the all-new Maserati Levanted Hybrid does a 0-100kmph sprint in just 6 seconds. However, the top speed is electronically limited to 240kmph.

Mechanically, this SUV weighs around 2090kgs with all-wheel drive powertrain, rear slip differential and air suspension as standard.

Inside the cabin, it will get blue treatment on the seats as well. Further, it is now available with Maserati Connect tech. To be precise, it can be connected to either a smartphone or a smartwatch using Maserati Connect App. Also, the 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system along with the 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster is now updated.

Alternatives

Globally, Maserati Levante Hybrid will compete against the likes of the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid.

Although, Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid gets a plug-in hybrid system, unlike the Levante. However, both of them are perfect rivals to each other in terms of every aspect. For starters, the electrified Cayenne comes with a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 motor along with an electric motor. The combined output from both of them stands at 455HP and 700Nm of peak torque.

In terms of features, the updated Cayenne range now comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multifunctional steering wheel, four USB C charging ports, etc. among others.

Performance-wise, it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 4.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the top speed from the same stands at 252kmph.
