For the first time, Mercedes is here with the AMG E53 with almost all the styling cues inspired from the regular 2021 E-Class. As we know, this one will be the entry-level performance coupe for the lineup, therefore, expect it to come equipped with an AMG kit as standard. Talking about the kit, it brings the customers a plethora of upgrades such as a signature grille, revised bumper, wide air intakes and a lip spoiler for improved aerodynamics.

Inside the cabin, it will continue to feature twin large screens with a nicely laid out dashboard, again very similar to what we get on the standard E-Class. The first one behind the AMG Performance steering wheel is reserved for the fully digital instrument cluster. Meanwhile, the other one on top of the centre console is a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features such as a wireless charging pad, 360-degree camera and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will continue to be a part of the performance models for added practicality.

Engine

The most important part about the Mercedes-AMG E53 is its powertrain. Currently, it gets a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine that churns out a massive 435HP and 520Nm of peak torque with the brand’s EQ Boost mild-hybrid technology for a sudden burst of power. Interestingly, it comes mated to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G gearbox with four-wheel drive powertrain as standard.

The new E63 S is something enthusiasts love to drive. It’s power-packed and comes with almost all the features available in any luxury sedan available in the market. To differentiate it from the standard E-Class, this one gets the performance-oriented AMG kit (mentioned above), 20-inch alloy wheels, paddle shifters and sportier exhausts.

Engine & Performance

A powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine is also there making the AMG E63 S the most powerful sedan from the lot. Overall output from this unit stands at 612HP and 850Nm of torque, pushing it to do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 3.4 seconds. Surprisingly, it comes with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT 9G gearbox with the brand’s 4MATIC+ four-wheel drive powertrain as standard.
