Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance: What’s stored for the owner?

It’s not going to cost any less and that’s for sure. The price tag confirmed by Mercedes-Benz is somewhere around Rs.3.3 Crores (excluding tax and other expenses) and that’s surely going to burn holes in the customer’s pocket when the on-road prices are revealed.

In terms of design, the front section of the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance is sharper when compared to the regular model. All thanks to the visible changes on the front and rear bumpers, power socket area and interior that makes it more special than ever. Also, some other minor tweaks in the form of new alloy wheels and exhaust pipes have been introduced to celebrate such a powerful yet stylish-looking 4-door sports car.

Engine, Transmission and Performance

No, it’s not a rocket but still, the performance of the new GT 63 S E Performance is mind-boggling. Powered by a potent 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and an electric motor, it can churn out a massive 843 horsepower and 1470Nm of peak torque. Interestingly, transmission duties on this performance sportscar are managed by a 9-speed AMG gearbox to extract the most out of this setup.

Another interesting fact about it is that the numbers are not just only on paper. In fact, the sportscar is capable of clocking a triple-digit speed in just 2.9 seconds with a top speed rated at 316kmph.

The electric motor’s main motive here is not to offer an extended EV range. In reality, it helps in pushing the overall performance to the next level. For enough grip, Mercedes is offering its reliable 4Matic Plus all-wheel drive system as standard.
