Mercedes-Benz GLS Facelift: What can we expect?
When compared to the exterior, the interior of the new GLS has received more changes, and that is why let’s start with the exterior of the SUV. In terms of styling, it feels more premium with a multi-layer design and new elements. Here the new elements include a new steering wheel, the latest MBUX infotainment system, a fully digital driver display and new upholstery options.
The exterior of the new GLS has been tweaked to give it a more premium stance. However, detailed information related to these changes will be out only when the carmaker officially launches it.
From the pictures available on the internet, we can see that the model that was revealed globally features a new grille, massive ‘tri-star’ logo, stylish headlamps and a pair of sleek headlamps with new DRLs. The side profile, on the other hand, remains more or less similar to the outgoing model. However, the introduction of the new alloy wheels adds to the overall design. Mercedes-Benz has also made some minor revisions at the back with the new taillamps and new bumper design.
Similar to the pre-facelifted model, the new GLS is expected to come in two variants. The first one will be the GLS 45 4MATIC which comes equipped with a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine. Then, there is a GLS 400d 4MATIC that is powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder diesel motor. Until now, the Mercedes-Benz GLS was sold with a 9-speed automatic gearbox alongside both engines.
