The production of the current generation Mercedes Benz S-Class is about to come to an end. However, before discontinuing the existing S-Class, Mercedes has decided to bid farewell to the luxury sedan by introducing a fully loaded Mercedes Benz S-Class Maestro edition in India. One might be wondering what’s that? And to clear the doubt, it is a special edition model of the current generation S-Class that will come up with some minor cosmetic updates alongside multiple features on offer.

Prime Features: S-Class Maestro Edition

To start with, the S-Class Maestro edition will get a panoramic sunroof with Mercedes’ Magic Sky Control. It allows both the front as well as rear passengers to control the opacity of the sunroof. Meanwhile, another cool tech on the Mercedes Benz S-Class Maestro edition is the memory function for the driver. It allows the driver to electrically adjust the seat, steering and ORVMs as before in one touch. Further, the interior is now finished in Eucalyptus wood for a premium touch.

Apart from all these features, Mercedes Benz has also introduced the Mercedes Me Connect (MMC) feature on the Maestro edition. Meanwhile, it supports voice commands via Google Home as well as Alexa Echo.

Ultimately, Mercedes Benz has also introduced an all-new color scheme on the S-Class Maestro Edition, precisely – Anthracite Blue. However, customers who do not like the color much can opt for the Diamond White color scheme.

Engine

As this special edition, S-Class is based upon the S 350d sedan, it will be powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine. Further, it churns out 286BHP of power with a peak torque of 600Nm. The powerful diesel engine comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. As claimed by the company, it can do a 0-100kmph sprint in just 9 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

Surprisingly, for all these additional features Mercedes Benz will sell the special edition S-Class for a premium of Rs.13 Lakhs. However, the company might be introducing the next generation S-Class by mid-2021. Further, pricing is said to play an important role as even the Maestro edition right now feels like a value for money when compared to the next-gen S-Class.
