In case the title isn’t obvious enough(!), Mercedes has (finally) decided to debut the E -Class All Terrain in India. The E-Class All Terrain was showcased at the Auto Expo 2018 in Greater Noida. Even though the car has been on sale in the global markets for over a year, this is the first time that Mercedes-Benz will be introducing the estate wagon in India. The new model will be launched in India later this year and is set to rival with cars like the Volvo V90 cross-country and the Audi A6 Crossroad.

The all-terrain range is likely to expand to include other engines and could be rolled out to include the C-Class as well. The car, badged as E 220d, will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine which is capable of producing 191 BHP and develops 400 Nm of torque. The motor will be coupled to a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine is powerful enough to propel the car from 0 to 100 kmph in a little over 8 seconds. It can attain a top speed of 232 kmph.

The E-class All Terrain’s interior is the same as the E-class Estate but the car gets two large chrome slats on the grile flanked by the signature LED multi-beam headlamps and daytime running lights. The new All Terrain also gets a front bumper with a wide central air dam with a cladding that runs along the bumpers, wheel arches and side. The model comes with the option of three sets of alloy wheels in 19 inch and 20 inch sizes. The cabin is similar to the E-class sedan model, exclusively the dashboard and it has the company’s COMAND system with a 12.3 inch infotainment system.

The E-Class all terrain combines the comfort of an Estate and the abilities of an SUV. This is possible due to the generous ground clearing, large wheels as in an SUV and a 4MATIC all-wheel driving system which are offered as standard by Mercedes.
