Mercedes Maybach S580 To Arrive In India Via CKD Route

Mercedes India has announced that the company will bring the Mercedes Maybach S580 via the CKD route. The upcoming luxury sedan will be assembled here itself at the Chakan Plant, Pune. Further, the German carmaker will also launch the Maybach S680 in India as a CBU unit. Thus, expect a much larger price difference between these two luxury sedans.

With a wheelbase that is 5469mm long, the all-new Mercedes Maybach S580 comes with an ample amount of road presence. At the front, it gets the signature Maybach grille and larger air dams with chrome finishing that shows what actually attention to detail is. Further, the German carmaker also offers a new set of 20-inch wheels while customers can also opt for the 21-inch alloy wheels.


As we enter the cabin, the all-new Mercedes Maybach S580 feels extremely premium with two screens on offer. The center one is occupied by the 12.8-inch OLED infotainment system. Meanwhile, the other one is the 12.3-inch all-digital 3D instrument cluster that displays almost all the information required by the driver. For a more premium feel at the rear, the luxury sedan comes with Executive seats with a recline angle of 43.5 degrees. Further, for enhanced entertainment, there is a Burmester surround sound system alongside ambient lighting.


Powering the Mercedes Maybach S580 is a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that produces a maximum of 496BHP alongside 700Nm of peak torque. Further, it comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with rear-wheel steering as standard. For that quick grunt and better fuel efficiency, Mercedes is offering a 48V mild-hybrid motor paired with the V8 engine.

At the time of launch, we expect the Mercedes Maybach S580 to come with a price tag of Rs.2.2 Crores. Meanwhile, the S680 will be priced somewhere around Rs.2.7 Crore onwards.
