MG Hector Blackstorm Edition: Here’s Everything You Need To Know
Exterior & Interior
To keep it on point, MG Motor has introduced an all-black shade for the exterior, meaning the alloy wheels, ORVMs, and the grille have also received a similar treatment. Just to make it sportier, there are several red inserts on the outside. The brake callipers are among the few panels that have received a red treatment.
The other change that might be visible with bare eyes is the inclusion of a smoked finish on the taillamps.
Inside the cabin, the changes continue to make the Hector Blackstorm Edition more special. As per the images, the interior now features an all-black theme with Gunmetal Grey elements in contrast. There are no red panels on the inside.
Feature-wise, Hector Blackstorm remains exactly the same as the standard Sharp Pro variant.
Safety Features
Since the new Hector Blackstorm is based on the Sharp Pro variant, it gets 6 airbags, front/rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD and a 360-degree camera, to name a few. The only feature missing and should have been here is the ADAS.
Engine & Transmission
Interestingly, both engines are available with a six-speed manual gearbox. However, the CVT transmission is only available on the petrol variants.
Price
The price of the MG Hector Blackstorm Edition starts at Rs.21.25 Lakhs for the petrol variant, while the diesel variant of the same starts at Rs.21.95 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other hand, the same edition of Hector Plus starts at Rs.21.98 Lakhs and goes all the way up to Rs.22.76 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Rivals
In India, Hector Blackstorm Edition will go directly against the Dark Editions of Tata Harrier and Safari. Recently, even Jeep has launched the Compass Night Eagle. That limited-edition SUV is also a rival to MG’s new launch.
