MG Motors has recently launched the 2021 MG Hector and Hector Plus in India with a CVT gearbox. The all-new range will be sold alongside the manual as well as DCT variants. However, this CVT gearbox is more affordable and returns better mileage when compared to the DCT gearbox.

The all-new MG Hector CVT variant will be available with the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. Also, this all-new gearbox will be an 8-step unit and will be paired with two drive modes on offer, precisely – Eco and Sport.

Updates on 2021 MG Hector

In terms of design, the 2021 MG Hector is now available with a newly designed chrome grille. The outgoing variant on the other hand used to come with a blacked-out grille. Apart from this, the top-spec variants of the updated SUV now get a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the 2021 MG Hector range remains almost the same. The SUV still features the same 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment screen that is now available with the i-SMART system. This way the updated operating system can now respond to around 35 Hinglish voice commands. Also, features such as ventilated seats, auto-dimming IRVM, wireless charging pad and dual-tone upholstery are the new entries for the updated MG Hector.

Currently, it is the only SUV that comes with two automatic gearboxes simultaneously. Meanwhile, this all-new MG Hector CVT variant will continue to compete against the Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Kia Seltos in terms of a CVT gearbox. MG Motors will retail the all-new CVT petrol variant of MG Hector and Hector Plus with a starting price tag of Rs.16.52 Lakh onwards.
