HIGHLIGHTS:

  • MG Motors is all set to launch the 7-seater MG Hector Plus in India.
  • The center row is expected to get a bench seat with a (2+3+2) layout.
  • The all-new Hector Plus 7-seater will get the same powertrain.

As per the sources, MG Motors is all set to launch the MG Hector Plus by January 2021. Meanwhile, the only change we expect to see is the bench seat on the middle row. Apart from this, the 7-seater Hector Plus will remain the same as the older one.

With a similar look, the 7-seater SUV comes with a grille finished in piano black. Meanwhile, the SUV is expected to come with 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, functional roof rails, dual-tip exhaust as well as rear reflectors.

Inside the cabin, the only change we expect to see is a bench seat in the middle row. Apart from this, the all-new MG Hector 7-seater will remain the same with leather upholstery, multifunctional steering wheel and a sunroof. However, MG Motors is offering multiple safety features on Hector Plus including a 360-degree camera, ABS, stability control, EBD, etc.

Under the hood, MG Hector Plus 7-Seater will come with the same 1.5L Turbo petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology as optional. It produces 143BHP of power with a peak torque of 250Nm. However, the other one is a 2.0L Diesel engine that churns out a maximum 170BHP and a peak torque of 350Nm.

When launched MG Hector Plus 7-seater will go head-on against the Mahindra XUV500, Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Tata Hexa in terms of pricing. However, some of the top-spec variants do compete with the Toyota Innova Crysta as well.
