Hyundai is not even offering the smaller i20N in India and globally, they have introduced a power-packed version of Elantra called the Elantra N. Of course, we can stare at both of them from far away and admire how beautiful they are. But to be precise, that’s not the ulterior motive of N badges. Instead, expect something like performance from Hyundai’s N range and for that, turning on the ignition and gassing it up is the only way for a live experience.

It’s not coming to India anytime soon but the Korean brand has revealed the new Hyundai Elantra N globally. Want to learn what it has got to offer? Check out all the details down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Hyundai has finally revealed the all-new Elantra N performance sedan globally.
  • It will be featuring a 276HP, 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
  • Multiple changes and a 0-100kmp sprint in 5.3 seconds make it a perfect sedan.

In terms of design, the new Elantra N feels like a true performance-oriented sedan. To begin with, the front profile of the car comes with a revised bumper that features wide air intakes for proper cooling and a new front splitter on the lower end.

The side profile on the other hand remains similar to the standard Elantra but with a new edition specific 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped with Pirelli P Zero rubber. For enhanced braking performance, it will get a larger 320mm disc on every single corner.

At the back, the same comes with a wide rear wing and sportier exhausts as standard.

Interior

Not much has changed inside keeping in mind the latest iteration of the standard Elantra. Certain updates such as a sportier multi-functional N steering wheel, sports seats, edition specific infotainment system (with oil and coolant temperature and similar important details), similarly treated instrument cluster and lap timer are there to make differentiate it from the standard counterpart.

Being a 5-seater sedan, it will continue to serve practicality whenever required.

Engine & Performance

Under the hood, a power-packed 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine with a larger turbine wheel churns out a massive 276HP alongside a peak torque of 392Nm. Transmission duties for this setup are handled by an 8-speed DCT gearbox. However, enthusiasts who have an immense inclination towards a manual gearbox are free to opt for them as well.

Need altered performance according to the requirement? The entire trim with DCT gearbox will be available with multiple drive modes including – N Grin Shift, N Power Shift and N Track Sense Shift. There is even a launch control that pushes this extremely capable performance sedan to clock a triple-digit speed in just 5.3 seconds.

Hyundai i20 N-Line has been spied multiple times while getting tested in India. Well, again that is not at all a full-blown performance-centric hatchback. If launched, Hyundai i20N will be the first N range car. However, the chances of the Korean brand introducing such high-end performance cars for the Indian market is close to nil.
