Nissan has confirmed that the carmaker has received over 50,000 bookings for the Magnite. The Japanese brand started accepting bookings for the all-new sub-four meter SUV in November 2020. However, the price was revealed later in December month.

According to the company, Nissan has already delivered around 10,000 units of the Magnite till now. Keeping in mind the current demand for the SUV, the carmaker has also decided to ramp up the production work.

According to the carmaker, over 60% of the bookings are for top-spec variants. In terms of features, these variants are available with LED headlights with projector setup, electrically foldable wing mirrors, roof rails and a set of 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, Nissan Magnite gets a 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display, automatic climate control, 360-degree camera, push-button start and smartphone connectivity via wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sadly, even the top-end variants of the SUV misses out on a sunroof.

Under the hood, it is available with two engine options to choose from. For starters, a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 72PS of power @ 6,250 RPM and 96Nm of peak torque @ 3,500 RPM is there. Further, a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol motor that comes with the Magnite is tuned to produce 100PS of power @ 5,000 RPM alongside a peak torque of 160Nm @ 2,800-3,600 RPM. To be precise, both the engines are available with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard. However, it is the 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit that can be opted with a CVT gearbox.

For safety, Nissan offers dual airbags, Traction Control (TC), EBD, tyre pressure monitoring system and hill start assist just to name a few on the all-new Magnite. For now, Nissan Magnite comes with a price tag between Rs.5.59 Lakhs to Rs.10 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Alternatives

The sub-four meter SUV segment in India is one of the most competitive ones. To name a few, Nissan Magnite will compete against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Renault Kiger. For now, just take a look at its direct rival – the all-new Renault Kiger.
