Magnite was the route to revival for Nissan India and the brand really managed well to come out of the danger just because of this sub-four meter SUV. Recently, the Japanese brand announced that it has already received over 1,00,000 bookings for the Magnite and to celebrate this milestone, the all-new Nissan Magnite Red Edition will be making its debut on 18th July.

Planning to get into this segment? Here’s take a look at the details related to it down below.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Nissan Magnite Red Edition is coming to India on July 18.
  • Pre-bookings for the Red Edition have already been started.
  • Available with two engine options and cosmetic updates.

Nissan Magnite Red Edition

Not much has changed when compared to the regular car but Red Edition does get some minor cosmetic enhancements. For starters, the red finishing on the wheel arches, front body cladding and grille differentiates it from the regular version. Also, other changes such as edition-specific badging, tailgate garnishing, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED scuff plates to name a few are there to act as a differentiating factor.

Talking about the interior, it has received an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital driver’s display, air purifier, push-button start/stop, ambient lighting and a wireless charger. Several safety aids that we have already witnessed on the regular model such as traction control system, hill assist and vehicle dynamic control are also a part of the feature’s list.

The recently arrived Red Edition is the same as the regular model in terms of powertrain. Available with two engine options where the first one is a less powerful 1.0-litre three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that is paired to a sole manual gearbox. Thankfully, the alternative is a similarly displaced turbocharged unit with overall output rated at 100 horsepower along with two gearbox options.

Nissan India claims that it has received over one lakh unit bookings. Surprisingly, even after the chip shortage, it has rolled out around 50,000 units of the same. Right now, Magnite is available with a price tag starting at Rs.5.97 Lakh onwards. The top-end variant of the same on the other hand has been priced at Rs.10.53 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

At the time of bookings commencement, Rakesh Srivastava, Managing Director, Nissan India added, “We are excited to commence bookings for our New Nissan Magnite Red Edition. Our big, bold, beautiful SUV Magnite has underlined the value of Nissan’s global SUV heritage for the Indian market. Nissan Magnite Red edition promises to create a unique driving experience for the young, discerning audience. We are confident that the Nissan Magnite Red’s bold design, power-packed performance, comfort, advanced technologies and connectivity features will captivate the customers and create memorable journeys.”

Alternatives

In India, Nissan Magnite compares with other sub-four-meter SUVs such as Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza among others.
