Aprilia SXR 160 was first showcased in the Auto Expo 2020 and since then it is one of the most awaited maxi-scooter in India. The Italian bike manufacturer earlier started the bookings of the Aprilia SXR 160 against a token amount of Rs.5,000. Finally! It’s time for the scooter to roll out in the market as the company has recently started delivering Aprilia SX 160 to its respective owners.

  • The engine that powers the all-new Aprilia SXR 160 is a 160cc single-cylinder unit.

Features

Being a feature-rich scooter, the all-new Aprilia SXR 160 comes with an all-digital instrument cluster, twin LED headlamps, USB charging port, spacious under-seat storage, LED headlamps, etc. among others. Further, it is available with 4 color schemes on offer including – Matte Black, Glossy Red, Matte Blue and Glossy White.

Suspension & Brakes

It comes with a telescopic fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock setup at the rear. However, to stop the Aprilia SXR 160 there is a 220mm ventilated disc at the front and a 112mm drum brake at the rear. Further, the all-new powerful scooter comes equipped with 12-inch alloy wheels on both ends.

Engine

Powering the all-new maxi-scooter is a 160cc single-cylinder, three-valve engine that churns 10.84BHP @ 7,600 RPM. Further, it can produce a peak torque of 11.6Nm @ 6,000 RPM. The interesting fact about this engine is that it powers the Aprilia SR 160 as well. The top speed of the Aprilia SXR 160 is expected to be somewhere around 100kmph.

Rivals & Price List 

Globally, it goes head-on with Aprilia SR 160 Race, Suzuki Burgman Street and Vespa SXL 149. However, Suzuki Burgman Street is only available with a 125cc engine and is the only maxi-scooter in India that is fairly priced and feature-loaded.

Piaggio India has priced the all-new Aprilia SXR 160 at Rs.1.26 Lakhs (average ex-showroom).
