The automobile industry is facing sharp hikes in input costs that are ultimately affecting the customers as well. Earlier, it was the Yamaha Fascino and RayZR that faced a price hike of Rs.3,000. Meanwhile, now, it is the company’s popular R15 V3 that is costlier by upto Rs.2,700. Surprisingly, even after the price revision, it is still one of the most affordable 150cc fully-faired bikes in India.

Even after the price hike, nothing has changed on the all-new Yamaha R15 V3. Feature-wise, it still comes with an all-LED headlight setup, digital instrument cluster, engine kill switch, frame sliders and a mobile charging port among others.

Based on the Deltabox platform, Yamaha R15 V3 gets telescopic forks upfront. Meanwhile, at the rear, it is available with a conventional monoshock setup. Also, braking duties on the powerful motorcycle are taken care of by a 282mm disc at the front and 220mm disc at the back. For enhanced braking experience Yamaha R15 V3 gets a dual-channel ABS setup as standard.

At the heart, Yamaha R15 V3 is powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine. It is capable of churning out a massive 18.6HP and a peak torque of 14.1Nm. Further, this engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch for smooth shifting.

KTM RC 125 is one of the entry-level fully-faired motorcycles available in India. Currently, it comes with a starting price tag of Rs.1.62 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). In terms of features, KTM RC 125 is similar to its elder siblings. However, the engine that powers this motorcycle is a BS6 compliant 125cc single-cylinder unit. It is capable of producing a decent 14.5BHP of power alongside a peak torque of 12Nm while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This way, when compared to the Yamaha R15 V3, KTM RC 125 feels a little overpriced with a less powerful engine on offer.
