After the global debut of the third-generation Dacia Duster, people in India have been eagerly waiting for the SUV to arrive here. Earlier, both Renault and Nissan came up with their own iterations of the Duster for the Indian market, and the same can be expected from Dacia’s sister brand – Renault, in the coming year.
Want to learn what changes are expected from the third-generation Renault Duster? Here is everything you need to know.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Renault is expected to come up with a third-generation Duster soon.

- Several changes on the exterior and interior can be expected from it.
Renault Duster: What can we expect from it?
Exterior
From what we can see from the pictures, Duster has outgrown its predecessor when it comes to design. The angular edges and a heavy build give it a commanding stance, and similarly, the continuously running body cladding adds to the rugged look. What else we found new Duster are the 18-inch newly designed alloy wheels. Meanwhile, surprisingly, the door handles at the rear door have now been shifted to the C-pillar, just like how Chevrolet offered on the Beat.
As soon as we stand in front of the SUV, the introduction of the new sleek LED headlamps is evidently visible. However, what attracts a lot of attention is the integration of Y-shaped DRLs inside the same assembly. Go to the back, and one might not be able to figure out that it is the third-generation Duster, all thanks to a new tailgate that features completely revised taillamps.

Interior
Unlike the first and second-generation Duster that featured a rather plain interior, this one feels opulent. The carmaker has tried to offer enough attention to detail; look at how the AC vents are done. Those vents take inspiration from the DRLs themselves. Another panel from the dashboard that requires your attention are the physical buttons for the AC. The carmaker has not messed with it with an aim to make the cabin premium.
Also, several modern features have been introduced on the third-generation Duster. That includes:
- 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment display
- 7-inch instrument cluster
- 6-speaker ARKAMYS 3D surround sound system
- Wireless charger
- Electric parking brake, etc.
The only feature that seems missing on the global variant is the sunroof. However, it will be interesting to see if Renault adds this feature to the Indian variant. For the first time, Dacia has come up with ADAS on the Duster. That means the same would be featured in the Renault Duster as well.

Powertrain
The global variant of the Duster is being offered with three powertrain options. Firstly, all of them feature a petrol engine, but few of them are paired to an electric setup. The hybrid version that has been revealed globally could make its way to India, providing Renault and Nissan an upper hand on the rivals.
Platform
Built from scratch from the combined efforts of Renault and Nissan, Duster will be featuring the CMF-B platform. As stated by the brand, this is more sophisticated when compared to the old MO platform, helping the SUV to remain as capable as before.
Does the new Renault Duster still have that charm to compete against some well-established SUVs like Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos and Honda Elevate? Let us know in the comment section below.
