Renault Cars

Due to low demand in the market, Renault India temporarily stopped the production of the Pulse hatchback and the Scala sedan in India, earlier in 2015. Due to stagnant demand for these cars since then, the manufacturer has now decided to discontinue the manufacturing of these models in the country, confirms the Renault dealer in the country. However, both models are still listed on the company’s official Indian website.

After GST implementation from July 1, the company has revised the list of prices for Kwid, Duster and the Lodgy, but didn’t announce the revised prices for Pulse hatchback and the Scala sedan, which also hints that these cars have been discontinued.

The company is currently working on the Renault Kaptur that has been tested many times on the Indian roads. The car is already available in the global market as the Captur and while in India it will be named as Kaptur. The Renault Kaptur will be based on the Duster MO platform and will be positioned above the Duster.

The company will soon bring the Renault Clio hatchback to India which will be positioned above the Kwid in the country. The details of the Clio has not yet been revealed, but it is likely that the car will compete with Maruti Suzuki Swift, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo, and Fiat Punto.
