With electric scooters getting enough traction in India, many EV makers are trying to penetrate the market with their new products. We know, we already have big names like Ola and Ather in the industry, but there is a Bengaluru-based brand called Simple Energy who have recently introduced the Dot One scooter to give both brands a tough time.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Simple Energy has come up with Dot One scooter.
- It features an introductory price offer of Rs.99,999.
- Also, comes equipped with a 3.7kWh battery pack.
Simple Dot One: An Ola, Ather Killer?
Just like the premium Simple One scooter that was launched earlier, this one is slightly pocket-friendly, all thanks to a smaller battery pack.
To get inside the skin of the electric scooter, it features a 3.7 kWh battery pack that returns an overall range of 151 kilometres. Meanwhile, the output from the EV remains the same at 8.5 kW and 72Nm of peak torque. Coming to the performance of the new Dot One, it is capable of doing a 0-40kmph sprint in just 2.77 seconds. All credit to these numbers, Simple Energy calls it the fastest scooter in its segment.
On the features’ front, Simple Dot One is loaded with a Combi Braking System, a touchscreen rider’s display with smartphone connectivity and 35 litres of storage under the seat. Available in four different colours, including Namma Red, Brazen Black, Grace White and Azure Blue, the new scooter is available with various personalised options. However, the ones with the introductory price offer will be featuring LightX and BrazenX shades as standard.
The range of the Dot One stands at 151km, which is enough for city cruising. To optimise this range, Simple Energy also has 12-inch wheels on both ends with tubeless tyres.
Is the new Simple Dot One a perfect city ride? Or are the giants like Ola and Ather still customer’s first preference. Let’s wait and see. Till then, you can place books for the same. Meanwhile, the deliveries of the same is expected to start soon.
