Skoda today launches its new Octavia whose ex-showroom price will be starting at ₹15.49 lakh. Octavia is the first of the four products which the Czech carmaker has planned to launch in India this year. The company has grown volumes by 15% in the first six months of the year and expects the pace to triple in the second half.
The all new Octavia will be available in both Petrol and Diesel engine options. The petrol version comes with two engine options of 1.4 litre and 1.8 litre which will be priced between ₹15.49 lakh to ₹20.89 lakh. While the Octavia diesel is powered by a 2-litre engine and will cost between ₹16.9 lakh to ₹22.89 lakh across four variants.
Ashutosh Dixit, Skoda Auto India director sales, service, and marketing during the launch said, “The (executive sedan) segment continues to offer tremendous growth potential as it caters to a growing class of discerning buyers with the penchant for luxury combined with the right value proposition…the New Octavia…will be a game changer in its segment and will continue to drive Skoda’s success in India”.
The all new Octavia will be equipped with features such as hands-free parking, iBuzz driver fatigue alert, and eight safety airbags. While the company will be retaining the strong characteristics of space, all round comfort, safety and technology as of the old Octavia. With the new Octavia, the company aims to take on Toyota’s Corolla Altis in the segment.
