Skoda has announced the 4th generation Octavia powertrain list globally. The company will be offering a plug-in as well as a mild hybrid powertrain on the upcoming Skoda Octavia.

The all-new Skoda Octavia with a 48V mild-hybrid powertrain will come with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI engine and a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI engine. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 110PS of power and 200Nm of torque with a max speed of 201kmph. Likewise, this particular engine can do a 0-100kmph in 10.6 seconds. Coming to the 1.5-litre TSI engine, that produces 150PS of power and 250Nm of torque with a top speed of 225kmph. The 1.5-litre TSI engine can do a 0-100 kmph in just 8.4 seconds. Both the engines are coupled to a 7-speed DSG gearbox. However, both the engines will now get a 48-V belt-driven motor that comes paired to a 48V lithium-ion battery with regenerative braking.

The company also offers an ‘eTEC’ badging on the 4th Generation Skoda Octavia with 48V mild-hybrid technology. Meanwhile, Skoda will not offer the manual gearbox on both the plug-in as well as mild hybrid variants.

After the launch of the Superb iV, Skoda is all set to launch the Skoda Octavia iV. It will be the second plug-in hybrid for the entire Skoda lineup. Meanwhile, the Skoda Octavia iV will come with a 1.4-litre TSI engine with a 75kW electric motor. These powertrains combined will produce 204PS of power with a peak torque of 350Nm and will come paired to a 6-speed DSG gearbox.

Skoda to launch the fourth generation, Octavia in India by 2021. However, in India, Skoda Octavia will come with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine and may add the other engine options later.
