HIGHLIGHTS:
- Skoda renames the concept Vision IV to Kushaq that is based upon the MQB A0 IN platform.

Skoda has recently revealed the name of the production-spec variant of Vision IN. The all-new compact SUV has been named the Skoda Kushaq. Meanwhile, Kushak is a Sanskrit word that means ‘King’ from which Kushaq has been derived. Skoda has been using the ‘K’ and ‘Q’ alphabets on almost all the SUVs it offers in India. For instance, there is the Skoda Kodiaq, Kamiq as well as Karoq.
Skoda is expected to unveil the all-new Kushaq SUV somewhere within this month. However, spied many times while testing, the wheelbase is going to scale 2671mm for sure.
Two turbocharged engines will be offered on the Skoda Kushaq. The first one is a 1.0L three-cylinder turbocharged petrol unit that churns out a massive 110HP. Further, Skoda will also introduce a powerful 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine on the top-end variants. It can generate a maximum of 150HP while being mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
When launched in India, it will compete against the likes of MG Hector, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Tata Harrier. Apart from this, based on the same MQB A0 IN platform it will even rival the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
