Tata Motors has recently reduced the price of the Tata Altroz Diesel by ₹40,000. The company has revised the price of the diesel variant of Tata Altroz to push the sales further. However, the price of the Altroz XE which is the base variant remains untouched. The base variant costs somewhere around ₹6.99 Lakh while the top-spec variant is now priced at ₹8.95 Lakh. Tata Altroz Diesel returns a mileage of 25.11 kmpl as per the claims by the company.
Meanwhile, Tata Motors recently increased the price of Tata Altroz Petrol by ₹15,000 after the BS6 emission updates. However, the company has reduced the price of the diesel variants of the Tata Altroz to compete more aggressively with the upcoming next-gen Hyundai i20.
Top variants of the Tata Altroz comes with features like the auto headlamps with LED DRLs, rain sensing wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system by Harman, cruise control, electric tailgate, electric OVRMs, tilt adjustable steering, etc. Meanwhile, the engine that powers the Tata Altroz is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, diesel unit. It produces 89BHP of power with a peak torque of 200Nm. The Tata Altroz diesel variant only comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
Tata Altroz rivals the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza and Honda Jazz in India. However, right now Tata Altroz remains the only hatchback to come with a diesel engine. However, Hyundai is all set to launch the next-gen Hyundai i20 which is expected to come with a diesel engine.
