The difference between the mid-spec XMA and top-end XZA variant was so broad that customers who wish to opt for a loaded SUV had to pay a lot of extra money. Considering this as an issue, Tata Motors has decided to introduce a new XTA+ variant that bridges the gap between the two trims mentioned above.

Now talking about the Harrier XTA+, it will cost its customers somewhere around Rs.19.14 Lakhs for the standard variant and Rs.19.34 Lakhs for the Dark Edition. The Safari XTA+ on the other hand is priced at Rs.20.09 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi). Want to learn what all features are to be expected from both of them? Tata Harrier XTA+

As mentioned above, the standard XTA+ variant of the Harrier is priced at Rs.19.14 Lakhs and therefore, expect it to be costlier by Rs.1.3 Lakh when compared to the manual counterpart. The Harrier Dark Edition XTA+ has also been introduced with a price tag of Rs.19.34 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).

In terms of features, it packs a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 17-inch alloy wheels, a rear parking camera, climate control, a large panoramic sunroof, 8-speakers and automatic headlamps among others. For occupants safety, Tata Motors has decided to offer front airbags, ABS, cruise control, ESP and traction control on the Harrier XTA+.

Tata Safari XTA+

The feature list of Tata Safari XTA+ is quite long when compared to the Harrier. To begin with, it comes with additional features such as connected car tech, ambient lighting, 18-inch alloy wheels and a tyre pressure monitoring system. Other equipments such as a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, Skydome panoramic sunroof, automatic headlamps and wiper are there on the Safari XTA+ as standard.

Just like Harrier XTA+, the Safari XTA+ will also cost its customers a premium of Rs.1.3 Lakhs when compared to the manual XT+ variant. Just to be precise, the Indian carmaker has priced the Safari XTA+ at Rs.20.09 Lakhs (all prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

Engine: Tata Harrier & Safari

Powering both the SUVs is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The overall output from this unit is rated at 167HP and 350Nm while being mated to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Since the XTA+ is an automatic variant, therefore the latter one will be doing its job for both Tata Safari and Harrier.

Alternatives

In India, Tata Safari competes against newly launched Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV500 and MG Hector Plus. Similarly, the 2021 Tata Harrier lock horns with well-established rivals such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and MG Hector just to name a few.
