Let’s talk some facts straightaway. Tata Motors has already sold 25,000 personal electric vehicles over 19,000 units of them are Nexon EVs. Another cool fact is that the brand is currently leading the electric market with around 87 per cent of the market share in FY 2022. Isn’t it cool? An Indian brand ruling an entirely new segment with flying colours.
Thankfully, to spice up the electric segment, even more, Tata Motors has finally launched the all-new Nexon EV MAX with added range and more power. Want to learn more about it? Take a look at the details down below.
- Tata Nexon EV MAX has finally made its Indian debut.
- Added range and extra power are the USP this time.
- The new EV is now loaded with a larger battery pack.
Tata Nexon EV MAX
On the outside, Nexon EV MAX is more or less similar to the standard model. Although a palette including three colours including Intensi-Teal, Pristine White and Daytona Grey has been introduced. The cabin, on the other hand, has received some minor changes where the centre console now features a jewelled knob. Other enhancements in the form of Makarna beige upholstery, ventilation for front seats, wireless smartphone charger, auto-dimming IRVM and air purifier are also there depending upon the variant.
Variant? Yes, the automaker has confirmed that it will offer the new Nexon EV MAX in two different variants, namely – XZ+ and XZ+ Lux.
MAX also refers to the maximum safety of the passengers. For Tata Motors, safety has always remained the priority and that’s the only reason why this updated SUV is now available with safety features such as ESP with i-VBAC, hill assist, electronic parking brake along with disc brakes on all four ends as standard.
Unlike the standard Nexon EV, this one is equipped with a larger 40.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The brand claims that this setup is 33 per cent larger and therefore has an ARAI certified range of 437kms. Thankfully, the bigger pack has also resulted in improved power delivery. Tata Nexon EV Max is now capable of propelling 143PS and 250Nm of peak torque with three drive modes, namely – Eco, City and Sports. All these updates together now help the new and powerful Nexon EV MAX to clock a triple-digit speed in around 9 seconds.
Worried about the not so developed charging infrastructure here? Well, you shouldn’t be as Tata Motors is offering a 3.3kW or a 7.2kW AC charger as per the buyer’s demand. The carmaker even boasts that the all-new Nexon EV MAX can be charged using a 50kW DC. According to the brand, this charger juices up the battery pack from 0-80 per cent in just 56 minutes.
For a hassle-free experience, the battery along with the motor comes with a standard warranty of 8 years/1,60,000kms.
While addressing the media at the end, Mr Vivek Srivatsa, Head, Marketing, Sales and Service Strategy, Tata Motors said, “We at Tata Motors are committed to the rapid electrification of mobility in the country, and are humbled by the overwhelming response that we are receiving from our customers. Keeping customer centricity at the core and dedicated to bringing in newer products at regular and quick intervals, we are elated to launch the new Nexon EV MAX – an SUV that offers all EV users MAX freedom to undertake regular and uninterrupted long-distance travel. This SUV offers more range, more power, and faster charging while improving the overall driving efficiency, providing an uncompromised EV ownership experience.”
