Motor enthusiasts were expecting a DCT variant of the Tata Nexon. However, Tata Motors is not coming up with the DCT gearbox. Infact, it has launched a new variant for Tata Nexon called the XM(S). Tata Nexon XM(S) variant will be placed between the XM and XZ variant that will make Tata Nexon the most affordable car with an electric sunroof.

The price of the all-new Tata Nexon XM(S) starts from ₹8.36 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) onwards. The XM(S) variant of Tata Nexon is costlier by ₹52,000 than the XM variant. However, it offers an electric sunroof making it more affordable when compared to the BS6 Honda Jazz ZX variant by ₹37,400.

Tata is also offering rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps as well as steering mounted controls with the Tata Nexon XM(S). These features are not available with the Nexon XM variant.

Meanwhile, Tata will continue to offer the LED DRLs with projector headlamps, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, 8-speaker ConnectNext infotainment system by Harman and multi-drive modes with the new variant. Tata Nexon comes with 3-different drive modes – City, Eco and Sports.

Tata Nexon has introduced the all-new XM(S) variant to rival the upcoming Kia Sonet and Toyota Urban Cruiser. Meanwhile, the sub-4 metre SUV already rivals the existing Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Ford EcoSport, and Mahindra XUV300.

There are two engine options that are available with the Tata Nexon trim. The 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 118bhp of power and 170Nm of torque while the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces 108bhp and 260Nm of maximum output.
