It’s really a long story behind how this new but not so new Lamborghini got its name. Imagine the way an employee from the brand reacted when he saw the original supercar for the first time. Well, that same reaction derived the name for the Countach. Just to make it even simpler, Countach is “an expression of surprise in the Italian language, especially used by Piedmontese”.

The new Lamborghini Countach might remain subjective in terms of design but aligning it with the older version is somehow been successful. The brand is celebrating 50 years of this extremely capable supercar since the original model made its debut and to make this celebration even exciting, Lamborghini has decided to launch a modern version of the Countach in limited numbers.

Want to learn more about this limited-run supercar? Take a look at the details we have covered just for you.

You expect a lot from a Lamborghini when it comes to design. The new design language of the Countach serves the purpose but it isn’t as exhilarating as expected. On the front, the new one does get the slim headlamps and a muscular bonnet from the original supercar but the wheel arches on the other hand do feel out of place. Talking about the NACA ducts and similar intakes on the roof, they compensate for every other bit, making the new Countach extremely sportier in terms of design.

Interior

Inside the cabin of the new Countach, one might be able to notice a typical Lamborghini affair. To start with, it is available with a fully digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay, photochromatic roof, well-contoured sports seats and carbon fibre accents for even the tiniest detailing.

Engine & Performace

The most important part about the new Countach is its powertrain. Under the hood, it gets a potent 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine with power figures rated at 780HP and 720Nm. Surprisingly, the introduction of a 48V hybrid system further helps to push the combined output to 800HP with power channelled to all four wheels.

As claimed by the carmaker, the hybrid system churns out a separate 33.5HP and 35Nm of peak torque. Surprisingly, the entire electrical system on the Lamborghini Countach weighs somewhere around 34kgs.

Performance-wise, the limited-run supercar can clock a triple-digit speed in 2.8 seconds. Similarly, a 0-200kmph sprint at 8.6 seconds with a top speed of 355kmph makes it a complete beast.

Is it coming to India?

The brand has not announced anything related to it yet. However, if talking about its delivery, the Italian carmaker is expected to deliver the all-new Countach in left-hand markets from next year. Want to learn how many units of them will be produced globally? Well, Lamborghini has decided to introduce only 112 units of the same keeping in mind the ‘LP 112’ internal project name.
