Inside the cabin, the 2021 Toyota Hilux remains very similar to what we have already seen on the facelifted Fortuner. According to the carmaker, the idea behind this entire layout is to portray the durability and practicality Toyota intends to offer.

Update-wise, the 2021 Hilux is now available with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment display. Interestingly, the carmaker claims that this is one of the slickest systems the brand has ever offered. Engine

Globally, Toyota Hilux is available with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel engine. Talking in numbers, it is truly capable of producing a massive 204HP and 500Nm of torque while being mated to an automatic gearbox. As we know, Toyota also offers this same motor with a six-speed manual gearbox therefore, enthusiasts should note that the torque output remains 420Nm while being mated to the manual unit.

Searching for a fuel-efficient motor? Well, the 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine is not exactly a fuel-efficient unit. However, when compared to its elder sibling, this one does makes some sense. Interestingly, both the engines are available with a 2WD and 4WD powertrain. Apart from this, both of them are also present in the Indian market.

Alternatives

When launched in India, the all-new Toyota Hilux will be competing against the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the upcoming Ford Ranger Raptor. Want to know more about the 2021 Isuzu D-Max V-Cross? We have covered the entire details here.
