Toyota Hilux

Based on the well-known IMV platform, the foundation of the Hilux is very similar to what we have already witnessed on Fortuner. The brand also boasts the water wading capacity of it which stands at 700mm.

Features on the Hilux are definitely going to differ depending upon the variant. But to give you an idea, it is available with LED headlamps, fog lamps, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument cluster and dual-zone climate control among others.

Engine & Powertrain

Toyota has decided that the brand is not coming up with multiple engine options for the Hilux. This way, a sole 2.8-litre four-cylinder diesel unit with overall output rated at 204 horsepower will be there under the hood. For the first time, buyers have the power to play with the torque output. People who want to go with the manual variant will be getting 420Nm. Meanwhile, the same engine when mated to 6-speed automatic gearbox will produce 500Nm.

Another interesting fact about the Hilux is that it will be available with a four-wheel-drive system as standard across the entire range. Toyota has also equipped it with an automatic limited-slip differential that makes it more capable on rough terrains.

Safety

Occupant’s safety on the new Hilux is ensured by several best-in-class safety features. To be a little more precise, it is equipped with seven airbags, traction control, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control and Hill Assist to name a few.

Isuzu took one year of hiatus to return back in India after the new emission norms were introduced. Of course, we can target the carmaker for the outdated interiors but apart from that, the Japanese brand managed to nail every other aspect including the price tag.

Under the hood, the all-new V-Cross is available with a sole 1.9-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that propels enough power rated at 163HP. Talking about the torque output, it stands at a massive 360Nm. Isuzu has also tried to equip it with as many modern features as it can. As a result, the updated D-Max V-Cross is now loaded with a touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, cruise control, projector LED headlamps and alloy wheels to name a few.
