Triumph Motorcycles has already revealed the 2021 Triumph Trident 660 globally. However, just after the unveil the updated motorcycle was listed on the Triumph India Official website for a short span of time at Rs.6.95 Lakh (ex-showroom). The prime reason can obviously be website testing and therefore, we expect the all-new Triumph Trident 660 to come with a similar price tag. Also, the British bike manufacturer has started the bookings for the Trident 660 in India from November 2020 against Rs.50,000.

Design & Color Schemes

With a roadster design language, the Triumph Trident 660 comes with an all-LED headlight setup. Also, the neo-retro motorcycle now features a multi-functional TFT instrument cluster. With a minimalistic design language, the all-new Trident 660 comes with three color schemes to choose from including:

  • Matt Jet Black with Matt Silver Ice,
  • Silver Ice with Diablo Red, and
  • Crystal White with Sapphire Black.

Apart from this, Triumph is also offering around 45 additional accessories on the Trident for a personalised experience.

Engine: Triumph Trident 660

The engine that powers the all-new Triumph Trident 660 is a 660cc three-cylinder petrol motor. It is capable of producing a massive 81PS of power @ 10,250 RPM and a peak torque of 64Nm @ 6250 RPM. Also, this engine comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. Meanwhile, customers can also opt for a quickshifter as an optional accessory. Multiple ride modes including ‘Rain’ and ‘Road’ are also available to alter the performance of the bike according to the terrain.

Mechanicals

Based on the tubular steel frame, Triumph Trident 660 comes with an adjustable Showa suspension setup. Meanwhile, braking duties on the neo-retro motorcycle is handled by twin 310mm discs upfront and a 255mm disc at the rear. For an enhanced braking experience the all-new Trident comes with dual-channel ABS as standard.

Alternatives 

Globally, the 2021 Triumph Trident 660 will compete against the likes of Yamaha MT-07, Honda CB605R and Kawasaki Z650. However, currently, it is the Kawasaki Z650 that is available in the Indian market. Also, before jumping to any conclusion do give a look at what its sole rival in India has got to offer.

  1. Kawasaki Z650 –  Kawasaki launched the updated Z650 in India on 5th January 2021. Meanwhile, the all-new naked middleweight roadster now comes with a starting price tag of Rs.6.04 Lakhs (ex-showroom). When compared to the BS4 counterpart it is now available against a premium of Rs.10,000.
