TVS has recently introduced a smart start-stop feature on the TVS Jupiter ZX Disc variant. The main motive to introduce this all-new system on Jupiter was to improve the mileage and to make make it more environment friendly. Further, TVS has launched this updated variant for Rs.72,347 that remains untouched even after the introduction of the IntelliGO system.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • TVS has recently launched the all-new Jupiter with IntelliGo system.
  • It is a smart start-stop feature introduced to improve the mileage of the scooter.
  • Based upon the ZX Disc variant it is available with the same price tag.

To explain this feature in a more systematic manner. Just assume that the scooter is standing idle at the traffic signal. At that time, the IntelliGO system intervenes and shuts off the engine. However, when leaving the rider does not have to restart the scooter again. Instead, it will restart on its own by just rolling the accelerator. So this way the all-new IntelliGO system by TVS works and allows the user to save alot of fuel and helps to reduce the carbon footprint.

Feature-wise, the TVS Jupiter ZX Disc variant remains almost the same. The list includes LED headlamp, 12V charging port, parking brake, 2-litre storage space at the front and 21-litre storage space under the seat as well. However, there are only two color schemes on offer including Royal Wine and Starlight Blue.

The engine that powers this variant is the same 110cc unit. It produces a peak output of 7.5HP @ 7000RPM and 8.4Nm of torque @ 5500 RPM. Apart from this, the Japanese bike manufacturer has recently updated the engine as per the BS6 emission norms. Further, even the carburetor unit was earlier replaced by the fuel injection system.

According to TVS Motors, Jupiter returns a mileage of around 62kmpl. However, with the introduction of this smart start-stop feature one can expect it to return a better mileage. In India, TVS Jupiter competes against the likes of Hero Maestro Edge 125, Yamaha Fascino and Honda Activa 6G. Apart from this, TVS has recently introduced the all-new iQube electric scooter in Delhi with a price tag of Rs.1.08 Lakh.
