The 125cc scooter segment now feels crowded enough. All credit goes to the popular products such as Access 125 which made it a widespread segment within a very short period of time. Other manufacturers have also been trying to compete and one of them is a homegrown brand called TVS Motor. If you remember, the automaker tried its luck with the NTorq sometime before. Talking about the present, TVS has recently announced its all-new NTorq 125 XT with several first in segment features and a price tag starting at Rs.1.03 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). But, is this new scooter capable enough of competing with the best sellers? Here’s take a look at the details to find out.

HIGHLIGHTS:

  • TVS NTorq 125 XT launched with a tag of Rs.1.03 Lakhs.

Till now, NTorq Race XP was the top-end variant but with the introduction of this new model, TVS has decided to reshuffle the lineup. As a result, XT will now act as the new top-end variant while the other one sits just below it. Another crucial update in regards to this new scooter is the introduction of several first in segment features.

Starting with the first one, the brand has introduced an intuitive and coloured TFT rider’s display that feels modern. Not only this screen is crisp but it also comes with over 60 features including voice assist and smartphone connectivity. Interestingly, TVS Motor Company has also confirmed that this new panel can be used for multiple information apart from the conventional ones. For example, users can now check out the live cricket, football scores, news and weather updates on the screen itself.

Other updates on the NTorq 125 XT are in the form of a start-stop system and completely revamped alloy wheels on either end. Features that were offered on the Race XP model including a USB charger, dual handle lock and kill switch are still there on the XT variant as well.

At the heart, it even features the reliable 124.8cc single-cylinder engine with overall output rated at 9.25 horsepower and 10.5Nm. Since it is a powerful motor, the all-new TVS NTorq 125 XT is capable of doing a 0-60kmph sprint in just 9 seconds with a top speed rated at 95kmph.

Rivals

In India, TVS NTorq 125 continues its rivalry with Suzuki Access, Honda Activa 125, TVS Jupiter, Yamaha Ray ZR and Suzuki Burgman Street.
