Volkswagen is heading with an offensive strategy in terms of expanding its lineup in India. However, the latest launch event from the German marque saw sportier versions of two existing products along with the all-electric ID.4 crossover SUV.

With due credits, this will not only expand the overall lineup but will mark VW’s entry into the EV segment here in India.

Volkswagen New Launches Explained

Starting with the Taigun, the compact SUV will now be offered in two new variants named –  GT Line and GT Plus Sport. There’s a further division as well, and that is in three trim levels, including GT Edge, Chrome and Sport, offering customers the option to choose according to their needs and are just limited to visual changes.

The cosmetic changes that one might find on the GT Plus Sport variant are the inclusion of 17-inch Cassino black alloy wheels, Black coloured roof rails, glossy black elements for B and C-pillar, Red coloured GT logo, red treatment on the front brake callipers and similar visual changes across the four ends. Inside the cabin, the changes are similar to what we witnessed on the outside. It includes multiple red elements on the panels, and then there are other changes like aluminium pedals, black sun visors, and grab handles, to name a few.

The GT Line, on the other hand, features a little less and the badging at the rear states TSI.

Last but not least, we have Virtus GT Plus Sport, which is currently in its concept form but will be launched soon. The ID.4 has also made its Indian debut at the same launch event and the information related to it will be out soon. For now, customers can book the new Taigun series as Volkswagen has confirmed that it is accepting the bookings for the same.
